00:00:01: Listen, LiSEC.

00:00:03: The podcast about glass processing.

00:00:11: Hello and welcome back to LiSTEN LiSEC season two deep dives.

00:00:14: My name is Sarah

00:00:15: And I'm Hannes.

00:00:17: We're once again recording from our production site in Austria and we are situated inside the training center.

00:00:22: Today you can hear machines being rebuilt.

00:00:24: There might be some sounds at a background.

00:00:27: We focus on topic that often runs quietly but still massively important for productivity service.

00:00:37: Yes, Sarah.

00:00:37: You just mentioned that service I think is a lot of times underestimated because services not just about fixing things when something breaks.

00:00:45: It's about keeping machines productive for as long as possible Reducing risk and making production more predictable.

00:00:53: So you're saying it makes sense for customers to actively care.

00:00:55: what service?

00:00:57: Absolutely Sarah.

00:00:58: so good service better spare parts preventive maintenance remote support or consulting directly impacts productivity extends machine life and reduces unplanned, therefore expensive downtime.

00:01:11: A lot of customers still associate service with emergencies.

00:01:14: however in reality service should be a strategic tool.

00:01:20: it stabilizes production It reduces risk And last but not least is also keeps older equipment productive for much longer.

00:01:28: In LiSEC we do offer several levels of support phone & remote services on-site services as well as backup and upgrades.

00:01:39: I'd like to refer back when you said service can be a strategic tool, because i'm wondering if ask myself the question how could increase my output without investing in new machines?

00:01:48: Does Service have an answer for

00:01:49: that?!

00:01:50: That's where LiSEC process consulting comes into play!

00:01:53: A LiSEC specialist will analyze your production flow, operator routines ,as well machine settings & interfaces.

00:02:02: Often they are hidden inefficiencies that have simply become normal over time.

00:02:06: The result of process consulting is a clear improvement plan, which shows where the output and quality potential are being lost... ...and how it can be recovered with existing equipment.

00:02:19: For customers this is structured way to gain fresh eyes on their production… …and identify improvements they may longer see themselves.

00:02:28: That sounds quite exciting!

00:02:29: Another question – what if I just want peace of mind?

00:02:33: What kind of support can LiSEC offer me?

00:02:36: LiSEC actually has a few things to offer on that front.

00:02:40: So let's start with LiSERV, what exactly is that?

00:02:45: LeeSurf is LiSEC remote service subscription.

00:02:49: it bundles several services into a clear monthly contract including hotline support, remote diagnostics and fast troubleshooting.

00:02:58: the key value there is speed and prioritization.

00:03:02: customers With a lease-serve contract, receive defined service levels and faster response times because resources can be allocated immediately.

00:03:13: So something like an insurance?

00:03:14: Not something you need every day but something immensely valuable in the moment you need it!

00:03:20: Absolutely Sarah.

00:03:21: I really liked your comparison to insurance Because just avoiding few hours of downtime Can already justify the entire contract.

00:03:32: But what does it mean for customers who don't have such a contract?

00:03:36: LiSEC, of course doesn't let anyone down.

00:03:39: So even without the contract you are still supported!

00:03:43: However, LeeSurf customers benefit from structured access predictability and priority which directly reduces production risk.

00:03:54: If LeeSarf is like insurance there's something else I can do to protect my machines.

00:03:59: Another topic that is becoming more and more important, it's protecting the brain of this system.

00:04:04: If machine PCs fail due to hardware issues power outages or mailware an entire production line can stop without a backup.

00:04:14: recovery can take days.

00:04:16: This is where this back up comes in.

00:04:18: It runs incremental backups weekly stores data securely in a lysic datacenter And enables full or partial restores.

00:04:28: This service cannot be disabled accidentally.

00:04:31: In short, LiS Backup is a simple safe net that prevents extremely expensive downtime and a lot of headaches.

00:04:40: So we talked about an insurance in case of emergencies And a safety net.

00:04:44: But I'm wondering Is there way to prevent Or at least predict standstills?

00:04:50: Well Sarah you're touching on A very important topic here.

00:04:54: this is where physical maintenance on the machine is super important.

00:05:00: In practice, many customers skip or postpone maintenance tasks not because they don't care but because daily production pressure is high and responsibilities are unclear.

00:05:11: The result often runs to failure strategy.

00:05:14: Machines only touched once something breaks.

00:05:17: Here where preventive maintenance can make a huge difference Even basic maintenance steps as defined in the machine's manuals can prevent major failures.

00:05:27: LiSEC Preventive Maintenance is a service where a lysic technician inspects key machines, checks critical components and adjust settings when needed.

00:05:38: It´s actually comparable to servicing your car, Sarah.

00:05:41: Regular maintenance dramatically reduces risk of costly breakdowns And long downtime.

00:05:48: So Sarah when was you last service with your car?

00:05:50: actually not too long ago, like two weeks ago.

00:05:53: And I remember the technician told me to use all original parts

00:05:57: which is an excellent point Sarah.

00:06:00: so while in preventive maintenance spare parts are key when it comes to everyday operations of a machine The wear parts Are essential.

00:06:10: even with good maintenance Machines need the right where parts.

00:06:15: because this is important lysic offers and only one carefree package which delivers the right parts at the right time to your facility.

00:06:26: These packages include fully tested and compatible parts, which avoid compatibility issues and supports consistent maintenance quality.

00:06:37: as a customer you have choice to order parts on case by case base or You can also enter into predictable yearly contracts.

00:06:47: This reduces procurement effort in complexity on the customer side and also focuses on simplicity and reliability.

00:06:57: I see, so i got insurance now!

00:06:59: I get carefree packages and services.

00:07:02: but what happens when my machines get older?

00:07:04: What happens after ten to fifteen years?

00:07:06: is there still something that can do it?

00:07:07: make them serve me

00:07:08: longer?!

00:07:10: This another super exciting topic LiSEC offers its customers.

00:07:15: It's called long-life upgrades.

00:07:18: It's actually giving the machine a second life!

00:07:21: There are many examples out there in the market where LiSEC machines have been operating for over twenty plus years and still add value to their owners.

00:07:32: How is that possible?

00:07:33: And at least, the computer is getting obsolete by this point.

00:07:36: Absolutely Sarah.

00:07:37: This is when Long Life Upgrades come In.

00:07:40: Examples include modern PC Upgrades with long term supported operating systems But it also goes beyond the computers.

00:07:49: It's about replacement of obsolete drive components, and also retrofits that improve efficiency and consistency.

00:07:58: So what does this mean for you as a customer?

00:08:01: Instead of full reinvestment You can upgrade step-by-step And keep machines reliable and productive For many more years.

00:08:12: I see now LiSEC got an answer to every stage in machine life cycle.

00:08:16: So Hannes, let's wrap up this episode.

00:08:18: What should be the takeaway for our listeners?

00:08:21: I think the most important thing is that service shouldn't be seen as cost.

00:08:26: it should be seen an investment.

00:08:29: services not just about fixing things when something breaks.

00:08:33: It's about keeping machines productive where long as possible Reducing risk and making production more predictable.

00:08:41: And at the end of today The better their service the fewer they headaches.

00:08:46: Thank you, Hannes for your insights.

00:08:47: This has been another exciting episode!
