00:00:01: Listen, Leisek.
00:00:03: The podcast about glass processing!
00:00:11: Hello and welcome to Listen-Leisek.
00:00:12: season two Deep Dives.
00:00:14: My name is Sarah
00:00:15: And I'm Hannes.
00:00:16: We're recording once again from our production site in Loroastria.
00:00:19: Our studio's located inside the training centre.
00:00:22: Today you might hear a safety training going on In the background.
00:00:26: When people think of Leiseke They often think about cutting Insulating glass Logistics or software.
00:00:32: Laminating glass however Is really their first association And that raises a question.
00:00:38: Hannes, what would you say?
00:00:39: Does LISAC really have deep expertise in laminating?
00:00:44: All right Sarah.
00:00:45: the short answer is yes!
00:00:47: LISIC has deep laminated glass know-how and I think today we'll look a little bit into where it comes from how it evolved and why matters for customers today.
00:00:59: Alright so let's start there.
00:01:01: Why does this perception exist?
00:01:05: That might lead from that.
00:01:06: lysic is often perceived mainly as IG cutting and logistics expert.
00:01:11: And laminating was often seen just one part of the ecosystem.
00:01:15: What's misleading, we've been deeply involved in laminating for decades not only a system integrator but also technology developer.
00:01:25: When you look at lysics history our installed base and technologies used today it becomes very clear is not new to laminating.
00:01:35: Our laminated glass competence grew organically through projects, acquisitions and real production
00:01:42: experience.".
00:01:44: So let's talk about that history.
00:01:45: where exactly does LISICs laminate expertise come from?
00:01:49: Over many years we've worked with very different laminated technologies and applications.
00:01:55: One important example are fully automated vacuum laminators for solar production which LISEC produced and sold for a long time.
00:02:03: That experience gave us a deep process-label understanding on flamination.
00:02:09: This includes topics like lamination foils, how adhesion builds up between foil and glass... ...and why this interaction is critical for the long term durability of laminated products.
00:02:22: But I suppose that knowledge doesn't stop at solar panels for energy production right?
00:02:27: Absolutely Sarah!
00:02:29: Alongside these internal knowhow LISAC has also worked very closely with CMI, an Italian specialist for laminated safety glass lines.
00:02:39: Together we installed almost one hundred laminating lines worldwide and most of them are still in operation today which shows how robust mature that technology is!
00:02:51: Also In twenty seventeen LISIC acquired Armatech a company with laminates experience dating back to the nineties.
00:03:00: By that time, Amatek had delivered around another one hundred laminating systems worldwide.
00:03:07: When Lysik brought together CMy's practical field experience and Amateks engineering depth we didn't simply continue existing solutions.
00:03:17: Lysiq deliberately took the best from both worlds and used it to build a new generation of laminated technology.
00:03:25: since then We delivered more than twenty additional laminatin lines under the Lysic name which our customers are very happy with.
00:03:33: That sounds great!
00:03:34: So when you say best of both worlds, what exactly do you mean in technical terms?
00:03:40: I would say there three key differentiators.
00:03:43: The first one is the servo spindle press technology.
00:03:47: Unlike hydraulic or pneumatic systems Our Press always works perfectly parallel.
00:03:54: that means even if the glass isn't positioned exactly in the center The pressure distribution remains uniform.
00:04:01: With other systems this can lead to tilting, glass offset uneven pressure or even breakage.
00:04:09: Lysic solution eliminates these risks and that results in very low scrap rates and consistently high laminated quality.
00:04:19: That sounds good!
00:04:20: Another major advantage is our heating concept.
00:04:24: we combine radiation in the same pre-elimination oven.
00:04:30: Radiation heating is ideal for thin laminates, where mainly the foil needs to be activated quickly.
00:04:37: Convection heating becomes essential for thick or special glass builds when heat must penetrate the entire package evenly.
00:04:45: This flexibility allows customers to produce everything from standard laminated glass to thick walkable or security glass – all with one system!
00:04:57: Amazing!
00:04:58: And what's the third one?
00:05:00: That would be scalability.
00:05:02: Lysic Solutions cover glass sizes from four meters by two meters all the way up to twelve meters, by three point three meters so customers are not limited as their product range grows.
00:05:16: The same applies for automation.
00:05:19: Producers can start with a manual for personal operation at the line and then step-by-step move towards semi automated or fully automated production solutions, all within the same LISIC lamination concept.
00:05:34: So how does that work?
00:05:36: Before you have four people working on a line and afterward what is automated then?
00:05:41: As already mentioned, LISic laminating lines are designed to be modular and scalable.
00:05:47: Once your customer switches over to automation The system can retrieve production data directly from ERP software Automatically select correct foil Cut it to length and stack glass in foil precisely.
00:06:03: I want to highlight one particular important innovation from Leisig, this is the automatic foil trimming system.
00:06:11: Trimming elastic PVPfoil manually is time-consuming inconsistent can also be dangerous for the operator.
00:06:21: Our system removes excessive foil automatically safely very precisely while the operator can already prepare a next-class package.
00:06:31: This improves safety, reduces contamination risk and increases throughput
00:06:36: significantly.".
00:06:38: That sounds like real advantage!
00:06:40: Can you tell me what range of laminating solutions does LISIC offer today?
00:06:45: That's great question Sarah – LISic covers very broad spectrum for laminate solution.
00:06:50: today.
00:06:52: We support everything from compact manually operated lines to high-output fully automated jumbo glass systems, including both fixed size and band size production.
00:07:06: Another important part of the LISIC portfolio are retrofit solutions.
00:07:11: In many projects we integrate key components such as prelimination ovens into existing production lines even if those lines were originally supplied by another manufacturer.
00:07:23: Combined with LISAC's software expertise, this allows customers to increase output improve quality and gain flexibility without having to rebuild the entire factory.
00:07:35: And I've heard LISIC will now offer another option to provide even more flexibility!
00:07:42: Yes Sarah there has been some really exciting news on the laminating horizon for LISEC.
00:07:47: LISic has decided become a majority shareholder of LummiPress.
00:07:52: So what is Lummi Press?
00:07:54: Lummi Press is an autoclay-free laminating process that combines high level of flexibility with strong cost efficiency.
00:08:02: This autoclay free process makes the system particularly attractive for changing product mixes or smaller batch sizes.
00:08:12: With LummiPress, different thicknesses can be processed in a single production cycle typically within forty five to sixty minutes while still achieving the high laminate quality and standards compliance that you expect from LISAC.
00:08:29: In addition, Lumipress only requires limited floor space and comes with a moderate investment level.
00:08:36: This makes it smart option for customers who want to enter laminated glass production or just add capacity alongside existing lines.
00:08:46: That sounds like an interesting addition of portfolio.
00:08:49: So finally let me ask directly Why should a customer choose Lysik as their lamination project partner?
00:08:56: As an all-in-one solution provider, Lysyk understands laminating is the complete process not just of machine.
00:09:05: We bring decades of experience and large installed base deep technology knowhow in strong software integration together with one solution whether it's new greenfield projects or upgrade existing line where step by step automation strategy Lysik is a reliable, long-term partner.
00:09:25: And we do not stop there!
00:09:27: With new innovation and also combining acquired expertise... ...Lysik provides solutions that work reliably in everyday production.
00:09:37: I think this the perfect way to sum up these episodes.
00:09:40: Thank you Hannes for sharing your insights.
00:09:42: Alright Sarah When you think about laminated glass in future Think Lysak
