00:00:15: and I'm Hannes
00:00:16: And today we're recording at our production site in Seitenstetten.
00:00:19: Our topic for the day will be logistics and Hannes' wondering Will they be able fill a whole episode talking nothing but logistics?
00:00:26: One hundred percent Sarah Although Logistics often seen as non-value adding term but it's absolutely essential.
00:00:33: Interlogistics is the pacemaker of the flagless industry, without a well-orchestrated logistics system even the most advanced machines can't perform.
00:00:43: Isaac's goal is to transform logistics into profit driving factor.
00:00:47: All right you've caught my interest.
00:00:49: let's start with big picture.
00:00:51: why is interlogistics such an important factor in gas production?
00:00:55: So interlogistic ensures continuous production It also prevents bottlenecks and it supports key processes, for example cutting processing lamination insulating glass production.
00:01:08: And last but not least – It also combines machines & software for flow control.
00:01:13: Alright thank you for the big picture!
00:01:15: But can you now tell me how does LISIC approach to topic?
00:01:18: Absolutely!
00:01:19: LISic has three pillars.
00:01:21: First end-to-end thinking.
00:01:24: With systems like IGSort, LISics decouples production steps and ensures continuous flow, even when remakes are needed.
00:01:33: Second is space.
00:01:35: as we all know space is limited.
00:01:37: our double stack buffer system allows vertical storage saving valuable floor space and enabling optimized footprints.
00:01:44: And third automation.
00:01:46: robotics now handles heavy glass elements automates loading & unloading and reduces dependency on manual labor all while maintaining precision and consistency.
00:01:59: That's interesting, I still remember a time when robots weren't considered necessary in flat glass production.
00:02:05: what changed?
00:02:06: that is an fascinating question.
00:02:08: years ago robots were considered overkill for flat glass because movements are mostly linear.
00:02:15: however i think few things have changed on the one hand environmentally and on the other hand the robots themselves.
00:02:24: So let's focus on the robots first.
00:02:26: Robots now can handle up to six hundred kilogram, support XYZ movement and integrate refutation platforms plus.
00:02:35: they're also way more affordable and standardized.
00:02:38: On the other hand environmentally we do see labor shortages And a rise of complexity that might have changed again.
00:02:46: so robots are in the shop floor Now.
00:02:48: what are you doing there?
00:02:50: Robots are mainly used for the likes of loading and unloading of glass, frame mounting into IG units.
00:02:58: And also for furnace bed optimization.
00:03:01: Are there any challenges integrating robots?
00:03:04: Certainly!
00:03:05: Any new technology comes with its challenges.
00:03:08: For example to make robotic unloading truly viable we needed to solve three things corner correction label application quality control.
00:03:19: These tasks are still off manually, especially in insulated glass lines.
00:03:25: Therefore LISAC has put a lot of efforts on developing solutions like operator-free corner cleaning and automated labour placement.
00:03:34: As these are now in place robots can fully take over unloading tasks without compromising quality.
00:03:41: Oh that's amazing!
00:03:42: But I remember when we first started about logistics, you also mentioned other systems apart from robots.
00:03:47: Thank-you talked a buffer!
00:03:49: What's the purpose of that?
00:03:51: Yes Sarah, buffers is another very exciting topic and see... You've been wondering if it can fill up full episode with logistics.
00:03:59: so buffers like IG Sword and ASM allows us to decouple production steps in groups similar elements into patches.
00:04:08: This reduces setup times and enables autonomous production runs up to five hours without operator intervention.
00:04:15: It also helps to manage remakes, end-to-end sure the correct sequence for shipping which is a very crucial part of customer satisfaction.
00:04:24: And I recall you talked about double stack buffer.
00:04:27: so what's that?
00:04:30: The Double Stack Buffer yet another exciting development coming out from the engineering center of Lysik.
00:04:37: It actually has the same footprint as a conventional buffer.
00:04:41: However, it can hold double the capacity.
00:04:45: How does he do that?
00:04:47: Well most glass formats especially for windows and doors are under one point three meters in height.
00:04:53: That makes them perfect for vertical stacking.
00:04:56: Our double stack buffers doubled the storage capacity on the same footprint, freeing up space for other machines or processes.
00:05:03: And yes these systems are retrofit ready even for buffers installed in the last few years!
00:05:10: So there's a lot of exciting news coming out of logistics.
00:05:14: I'm wondering as i always do at this point what should be to take away from our listeners?
00:05:19: Intralogistics is no longer just about moving glass.
00:05:22: it's about enabling smarter more flexible production.
00:05:26: So, interlogistics is strategic not just technical.
00:05:31: It combines precision automation and planning which drives productivity flexibility and space efficiency.
